In addition to our education and outreach programs, the Kino-Eye Center supports interviews and speaking engagements for schools, universities, community organizations, industry partners, and government agencies.

We also provide content and commentary for television, radio, and print media affiliates and online broadcasts.

Cesare Wright, Ph.D. M.F.A

Key Topics – K-12 education, higher education, artificial intelligence, leadership, engineering, drone technology, gaming and e-sports, virtual/augmented reality, career readiness, media and film, anti-bullying and rape prevention, college readiness.

Dr. Wright co-developed and launched the official RCEL Certificate Program in Engineering Leadership, which is expressly endorsed by the National Academy of Engineering, and is now regarded as one of the premier programs in undergraduate leadership development in the U.S.

While at Rice University, Dr. Wright also created the internationally acclaimed Rice Drone Camp and Rice ELITE Camp programs, and created and led the RCEL undergraduate internship program (100% internship placement of RCEL students for 5 years straight).

Serving as the President of the Kino-Eye Center for 15 years, Dr. Wright has created a wide range of STEM outreach and education programs, including Microsoft EPIC, Microsoft Drone Academy, and BP Service First.

In addition to his courses in Engineering, Dr. Wright has offered courses in Film, Art & Art History, Anthropology and Visual & Dramatic Arts, including the first Rice University courses in Advanced Sound & Cinematography and Auteur Film Theory.

Dr. Wright has received numerous awards for education excellence and outreach:

  • 2016 Houston Humanitarian Award from the City of Houston
  • 2015 Community Impact Award from the World Youth Foundation

Shelea Majors, M.S.

Key Topics – reading and literacy education, ELA and second language learning, K-12 education, professional development for teachers, community engagement in education, resources for involved parents.

With over 15 years of service in public schools  and 4 years in private education, Ms. Majors has extensive experience teaching children from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.  She holds teaching certifications in Texas, New York, and California, and has served as a Title I Reading Intervention Coordinator, Algebra Initiative Coordinator, and Reading One-to-One Program Coordinator.

In 2005, Ms. Majors received the ESL Teacher of the Year award for her work with second-language learners in the Houston area. Her primary area of focus is literacy development (traditional and multi-modal literacy).

Ms. Majors also has substantial media production experience and she has worked on  a number of award winning documentary and fiction films. Through education research and applied classroom instruction, she continues to develop innovative strategies for incorporating education technology and visual media in traditional academic settings.
